The photobooth in Ribbon Mall is the reward you earn after you have done the real work: airport, chests, codes, daily quests, and at least one gacha pull. The official Momo City Instagram described it as the place to take a picture and cherish your friendship forever. That tone is accurate. You will not learn how to play Momo City here — you will learn how to remember playing it.

Where the photobooth is

The booth is on the Pink floor (main floor) of Ribbon Mall, alongside the six NPC shops including Pri-me, EXEQ, Psych Neon, Gamazon, Cyber 404, and Edo Punk. It is not hidden — walk the main concourse and you will see it near the central atrium. A sign reads Photo or Photobooth. The Plaza is visible through the mall windows, which makes it a good backdrop for avatar shots even if you do not activate the booth. The Beary patch lengthened the Plaza max zoom distance, making it easier to frame wide shots from inside the mall.

How to use it

1. Walk up to the booth. An interact prompt appears on desktop and mobile.
2. Select your pose or let the camera auto-frame your avatar.
3. Choose a frame or background if the booth offers options. Some patches have added seasonal frames; check updates if a frame you expected is missing.
4. Press the shutter. The photo saves to your Roblox inventory or gallery.
5. If the UI stalls after the shutter, rejoin. Photos are saved before the animation finishes; only the gallery screen may glitch.

The September patch note mentioned photobooth text options were repaired after a Robo Japan moderation pass. If your booth is missing text fields, rejoin on a patched server.

Photo quality tips

• Change out of airport clothes. The Plaza look you spent an hour building deserves better than a departure-terminal screenshot.
• Toggle your best outfit from the customization page first. A photo at Pri-me with the gyaru look beats a photo in default avatar. The Beary patch added hex/RGB saved colors shared between closet and avatar editor — set your palette before you enter so the outfit is consistent.
• Use the mall lighting. The day-night cycle in Ribbon Mall changes the mood of photos — night shots have a different palette than day shots.
• Stand near the atrium windows. Natural mall light beats corner shadows.
• Use the extended Plaza zoom to get wider framing — the Beary patch fixed the too-short zoom distance that made interior shots feel cramped.

• Discord clips with friends (you are in solo servers, but you can still share the photo)

Sharing outside Roblox

Roblox captures photos as images that you can download through the in-experience camera or gallery. Export at the highest resolution available on your platform. Share directly to Twitter or Discord through the Roblox share sheet, or download and re-upload to Instagram or TikTok with the hashtag #MomoCity.

What the photobooth is not

It is not a character creation tool. You cannot change your avatar inside the booth. Use the customization panel before you enter. It is also not a photo mode in the open-world sense — you cannot reposition the camera freely. You get the booth framing and the immediate mall backdrop.

It is also not guaranteed to work on every build. Mobile players on older Alpha versions have reported the shutter button not responding. Rejoin to a fresh server if the booth is unresponsive — that is a documented patch target.

After the photo

The mall is still open. You came for the shot but you can leave with a gacha pull, a Maid Cafe shift, or a final look at Pri-me before logging off. The photobooth is the last stop on a good session, not the only reason to show up.
