Getting Started

Momo City Alpha starts at an airport for a reason. The lobby is a tutorial, a loot room, and a filter for players who mash skip. If you sprint to the gate you will miss tickets, eight airport chests, a suitcase with three unique items, and a quiz that can dump a huge Moni pile on you. This page is the first hour in order. Watch the suitcase video in the middle, then keep reading so you know what to do after you land.

The game is a solo life sim: one player per server, custom 3D clothes, NPCs, jobs, fishing, and shops inside a fantasy Japan. You are not late. Alpha boarding opened at the end of August 2026 after years of Robo Japan countdown. Bugs are expected. Walk, do not assume every prompt works on the first tap — especially on mobile.

Minute 0–10: do not board yet

Stay in the airport until you have:

  1. Ten airport tickets — they are pickups around the terminal, not Robux. A dedicated map is on airport tickets; the airport quiz page lists why they matter.
  2. Eight airport chests — each chest is a one-time clothing or accessory unlock. Dedicated route: airport chests. Walk the halls, stairs, and side rooms.
  3. A suitcase — four cases, three items each. Preview all four before you commit. The embedded guide is literally titled do not pick yet.
  4. The quiz — answer before you leave. It is the single fattest free Moni spike in the opener.

Only then find the boarding flow into the city. If a chest prompt fails, rejoin once. Alpha physics and proximity prompts still flake. If you already boarded empty, stop and open return to the airport before you buy Secret Castle to cope.

Minute 10–20: Settings, codes, markers

As soon as the HUD exists, open Settings:

  • Redeem every string on the codes hub. Diamond VIP can triple some Moni payouts.
  • Turn on guide markers for locations, fishing spots, and friends. The September patch added these toggles.
  • Drop graphics if you are on a phone. Cute lighting is not worth a 15 FPS mall.

Reset appearance if the default face is not you, but know that reset now teleports you to spawn. Do that in a safe interior, not on a bus lane.

Minute 20–40: first travel loop

Follow how to travel in this order:

  1. Plaza — three clothing chests, photo-friendly fountain, easy orientation.
  2. Nota Village — three more chests, Fuwachi sightings, quieter streets. Route: Nota Village chests.
  3. Ribbon Mall — shops, gacha, daily quests, Secret Castle, food court, photobooth.
  4. Maid Cafe — first job, even if you only clock a short shift.

Do not empty your Moni in Secret Castle on day one. Rank shops with the shop tier list. Unload bags using customization so mall purchases actually equip.

Minute 40–60: Citizen Island and a plan

Citizen Island is the big chest farm: fourteen clothing chests. Clear it with the chest checklist open in another tab. After that, pick one loop to repeat:

  • Fashion loop — chests + mall gacha + hair gender labels before you buy.
  • Moni loop — daily mall quests + cafe + leftover codes.
  • Social loop — NPC bios on the players hub, friendship, later birthday invites.

VIP is optional. Read VIP gamepasses before you Robux a pass you will not use. Alpha will keep adding systems; spending now on a pass that only triples code Moni is a different choice than buying Secret Castle drip you could find in a chest.

Controls and comfort

Momo City uses standard Roblox move, jump, and camera. Shift-lock helps in mall aisles. On mobile, pin the interact button and avoid running during proximity prompts — official trailers even joke to walk, not run. If you clip into geometry, reset character (you will snap to spawn). If the bus on Citizen Island misbehaves, that is a documented patch target; walk or rejoin.

Keep the starter checklist nearby for your second session. First hours are about not leaving free loot on the terminal floor. Everything after that is taste: gyaru at Pri-me, darkwear at EXEQ, maid frills at the cafe, or a quiet fishing marker on the coast.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Can I skip the airport?

You can, and you should not. Tickets, chests, suitcase items, and the quiz are all there.

Which suitcase is best?

None is universally best. Preview all four in the video above, then pick the silhouette you will actually wear.

Is Momo City multiplayer?

Alpha servers are solo. You still talk to NPCs and work jobs. See facts on updates.

What should I buy first?

Nothing. Redeem codes, loot chests, then shop with a tier list.
