Who to talk to first when Alpha friendship actually matters.

NPC Tier List

Momo City NPCs are the Animal Crossing half of the pitch. They own shops, hate each other, and — according to creator explainers — can be invited to birthday scenes at high friendship. Time is limited even in a solo server. This list ranks who is worth a conversation loop, not who has the best model (they all do; that is the point).

Full bios: Princess Momo, Nami, NPC directory. Watch the directory video there. Here we only rank.

S — Shop owners you already visit

Nami (Pri-me) and the EXEQ owner sit at S because you will see them anyway while shopping. Friendship that piggybacks on mall trips costs nothing extra. Nami is gyaru, photogenic, idol-aspiring, and won a 2024 NPC vote. If you only befriend one mall face, make it the one whose store you fund.

A — Princess Momo and story magnets

Princess Momo is the namesake energy: 21, July 27 birthday, AB, extreme friendship difficulty in community bios, sister Hiyamechu. A-tier because the difficulty is real — do not expect a one-shift max. If you like lore more than shopping, she is your long project. Related: Princess Momo page.

B — Cafe and village regulars

Maid Cafe staff and Nota Village faces (including Fuwachi flavour) are B. You meet them while doing jobs or chests. Talk when you are there. Do not cross the map only for a B NPC until patches add unique rewards.

C — Drama-only characters

Coro Sue (Psych Neon), scammer-adjacent mall rumours, and anyone whose bio is mostly “hates Nami for being happy” are entertaining. C for time investment unless you enjoy the bit. Read the directory before you adopt a villain as a main.

D — Photo-only mascots

Plaza animals and easel props that do not hold a shop or a quest. Selfie, move on. Chests behind them still count — loot those.

Friendship tips

  • Difficulty ratings in fan bios (easy / hard / extreme) are community-sourced from Discord and videos, not a pause-menu stat you can always see.
  • Birthdays matter later. Princess Momo’s is July 27; BB / Bonnie Bunny’s is September 1 in older NPC reels. Log them if you care.
  • Jobs help. A Maid Cafe shift puts you in NPC traffic without a separate pilgrimage.
  • Alpha will add more. When a patch ships a new shopkeeper, they start at A until we know if they sell unique goods.

If you want a simple rule: befriend whoever sells your S-tier clothes, then Princess Momo if you still have evenings left. That rule survives patches better than a twenty-row popularity contest.

Time budget

Give mall owners leftover seconds during dailies. Give Princess Momo a dedicated visit twice a week if you are chasing extreme friendship. Give cafe staff whatever time a shift already costs. Give Plaza mascots a screenshot and nothing else. That budget fits inside travel you were going to do. If a patch adds friendship rewards that list item IDs, we will promote those NPCs. Until the UI shows a number, assume conversation is flavour with a possible birthday attached — nice, not a second job.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Who is the best NPC?

For shoppers, Nami. For lore, Princess Momo. Details on their pages under players.

Does friendship give items?

Community explainers mention birthday invites at high friendship. Treat extra drops as a bonus, not a farm.

That was a promised celebration feature. Confirm in the live Alpha before you plan a party.

Where do I find Nami?

Pri-me in Ribbon Mall. Full bio on Nami and mall hops in travel.
